In Memoriam - Jocelyn McGillivray

GOING TO NOVA ©1990 Jocelyn McGillivray

What is it about You that makes me shy?
I'm going to Nova, into the sweet splendour of your eyes.
Contorted, confused, in the condition of the mind,
How can you still be so kind?

Do You see how You move me, do you see how I shake?
I have stood on my distance, like it was some kind of thing I had to hold at stake.
Twisted and turned, in the torture of the trance,
In the terror and the hope, of the time if I had a second chance.

I'm going to Nova, I'm going to Nova
Straight into Nova, into the healing of the light.
I'm going to Nova, I'm gonna make it inside this time.

I walk so soft along the road.
I carry something so fragile, hold it safe and sacred in my soul.
What poetry reveals as time unwinds!
It's the unspoken secret that makes the lovers count themselves wise.

I'm going to Nova, I'm going to Nova
Straight into Nova, into the healing of the light.
I'm going to Nova, I'm gonna make it inside this time.
Inside this time... inside this time...
